Question about old domains

I had a domain for 6 year but I didn't renew it this year so if I was to purchase it again would google class it as a new domain or remember it and hopefully give it good ranking

If you let it expire, then I think it would be classed as a brand new domain.

All your links would still be valid though, pointing to your site (assuming you have the same structure) so you would still get most of the linkjuice that the site previously had.
