Question about MySpace away message

I have my myspace away message always on.. or so I thought it was..

But I thought that if you have your away message always on, then nobody can send you a message right? But I am receiving messages from people in my inbox still..

So is my away message not really on or showing?

As far as I know, your message is being auto-responded to them even though you are still receiving their messages in your inbox. It's kind of like a vacation auto-responder so you can still respond to them later but they know you're not available at the present time.

I guess that makes sense... Can anyone confirm this?

I just thought that they would not be able to send me a message at all..

Ya i believe the same thing that it gets autoresponded.
