Plenty of people here who've done almost everything, so I was wondering if some would share the knowledge about moving websites after being hit by Penguin.
My question is: has anybody got hit my google penguin in the past and then copied the content to the new domain (obviously after de-indexing the old website) and then doing IM slowly and whitehat and survive the next penguin update?
or does anybody rank websites with content scraped from archive.org?

(I know that penguin is about the links but I was wondering still).

I read somewhere here that big IM players like BTB have done it and succeeded if my memory serve me right.

That is also what i will do when my penalized site is fully deindexed.

I tried one that was hit with the most recent Penguin update (dropped to page 9) ranking came back in few days as strong as before then dropped few spots ... too early to tell how long it will stick, however your goal should be how to avoid being hit at first place than keep playing the 301 game

andrewabd, You're absolutely right and I totally agree with you.
I didn't spam a bit but got negatively seo'ed in May (thought google was smart enough to see that but I was wrong, all the 1k forum profiles posted on the same day). I'm not moving to the new domain as this one is easy to clean up and the rest of the links are clean and nice.
I'm pissed because I didn't even do anything wrong and I don't know why somebody would spam a domain with barely any ranks and links :(
