I dont know much about this so maybe you guys can help me out.

Have a site with about 50 articles that was profitable for the week or 2 it actually made page 1 before a penguin slap.... Has anyone tried starting over with a new domain, moving the content over and then deleting it from the old domain? Any experiences? Is it feasible? Will it work?

The content is good but my backlinking strategy was bad (obviously) so I want to give this a go on a new domain if it makes sense to try...

    Thanks

I wouldn't risk it man. Its really a huge footprint for Google. As soon as they realise that your moving an old penalized site into a new one, they will penalise that too. Since you know its profitable, hopefully that will motivate you to write content again for the new site

get your content deindexed and then move (before anyone else steals your content) how to deindex website you can get tons of info in google itself.

tweak robot.txt to force crawlers out of your website. Delete website completely.

    And wait.

It might take light years for your content to disappear from google cache

Yes it is possible. I have done it with a client of mine who got penalized. (google will not penalize the new website, even if its the same content.)

Step 1: robots.txt all the pages in the existing website
Step 2: wait until google deindexes the website in their search results (takes a couple of days). verify that the website is completely deindexed using "site: " inquiry
Step 3: copy all content to the new url
Step 4: submit new sitemap in google webmaster tools

Thanks for the replies guys...I have decided since it still ranks in bing/yahoo just to throw some backlinks at it and see if I can take #1 and then also start a new site with new content...
