Hi Guys,

I am considering making some lead gen type sites. Basically a 1 page site with a lead capture form. Then sell leads to local offline companies.

So I know how & what I need to do- but I just looked at my regular domain registrar and .com domains went up to $9.99.

Would it make a big difference if I used info domains instead? Afterall they are an info site.

I'm trying to think ahead because I know some of these type of sites have potential to sell. Would the info domain turn a buyer off?

Has anyone ever done something like that with info domains?

I would personally stick with a .com if you can. Its the most widely used TLD and for that reason is generally more valuable. The only time I go with anything else is if the .com isn't available or if I find some clever usage of the TLD like "del.icio.us" for example. My .02, good luck man!

Yeah avoid the .info domains, a .com looks much better and I think a .info could turn off a business owner. You should be safe with a .com, .net or .org. Good luck with your lead gen site!

Due to the fact that many spammy sites have been thrown up on .info - it's prolly best to avoid them.

If you're not expecting to make enough to cover the extra $6 (or whatever), there's not much point in even starting! ;)

Internet.BS = $7.50 .com's + pay with PayPal

However, if you were in the UK, I'd recommend a .co.uk, or Canada .ca, etc.

Local TLD rule over all. (mostly)
