    New guy here. I would like to know what exactly is hidereferer and is it something I should use for my sites/blogs? I ask this question because I see so many people using it on this site in their posts. Just wanna know. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, btw.

    Somebody has to explain this for noobs anyway, here is an analogy:

    Hidereferer in simple definition is hiding the real referring site (or blanking referring site).
    Let's say that we are on BHW right now and we want to go to Yahoo. We don't want Yahoo knows that we will be coming from BHW, so we are going to hide our real place and send Google (for example) as "our place" before we come to Yahoo. In this case, Yahoo will record the referrer site as Google and not BHW anymore.

    Blanking referrer is clearing any referring site as if we go directly to target site.

    Hope this helps.

    When you click a link, the site you are sent to knows where you came from.

    So if you are linking to an affiliate site from a bh site, the affiliate will know where the customers you sent came from and may not be happy you have created 1000s of spam / generated / crap sites to promote their product and ban you.

    so what you can do is a meta refresh which should blank the refererer, then redirect them to the affiliate offer, the php would be something like this (not checked the code and is from head so probably is wrong, but you get the idea...)
    if(!empty( $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERRER'] ) {
        echo '<HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url='.$_SERVER['PHP_SELF'].'"></HEAD></HTML>';
    else {
       header('Location: http://www.domain.com', true, 301);
