Normally they will show 10 results of possible plagiarism from different sites. Are these "top 10 results"?

Not sure about the exact answer to your question but do know the whole application is riddled with inaccuracies!

An overhyped product that is vastly overrated and often misused

With the paid version, I know it normally lists them in descending order, from highest % duplicate to the lowest, so yes it appears that way.

Results only show up on copyscape when there is duplicate but if your article is original and no one copied it then there shouldn't be any result that will show up.

Copyscape is overhyped but I think its a good tool to have that you can use for free. My suggestion is to write unique and original contents and post them on your website. Now a days, most websites that contain duplicate materials normally don't rank well on the search engine anymore.

It shows Top 10 results but the basis of these results is plagiarism percentage, for instance, the website which will be having maximum resemblance with your content will be placed at the top and website with least resemblance will be placed last. Additionally copyscape is highly inaccurate tool. There are many flaws in its software. Over a period of time I have started using both Google and copyscape for finding the uniqueness of the content. You can just copy some sentences and paste it on Google, if your content is copied, it will show up in the results and if your content isn't copied, then there will no results related to your content.

With this toolbox you can do so much more than just check copy content

Are you sure about grammarly.com? My personal view is that it's not a good option. I have an account with grammarly.com, a paid one, but I somehow didn't found it captivating enough to hold me back, so now I use Copyscape and Google.
