It seems to me that Twitter has really low engagement compared to Instagram. Has it always been like this or is it because Twitter is pretty old now and has been spammed to death?

Was Twitter in the past at the same levels in engagement as Instagram is atm?

Also, on Instagram if you have a 10k account then it's already pretty nice.. on Twitter 10k is absolutely NOTHING. Was the value of 10k followers in the past on Twitter as valuable as having 10k followers on Instagram now?

You're correct, it's way harder to get good engagement on Twitter compared to Instagram. I've experienced the same as you.

Engagement on Twitter was and still is pretty low especially compared to instagram. Maybe it was (slightly) better before than now though, but it's in the past.

You'll find data regarding to this if you search on Google. There are studies/articles from different years, which compare engagement on different social media platforms, like this one for instance from a year back: https://www.garyvaynerchuk.com/the-...witter-and-instagram-will-determine-who-wins/. Read a few and you'll get the idea.

I'm in a love and hate relationship with Twitter, i started almost when Twitter was started or at least shortly after that, then i pretty much left it. I did ig for a year 3 years ago, but now i do Twitter again. So i don't have the whole picture, but one thing is sure, user engagement on Twitter almost cannot be measured, if you put instagram on the other side of the scale.

That's why i don't really care how many followers i have on Twitter, as you said it, it doesn't mean too much.
What matters that how many NEW people can you reach and there are better ways to do that than solely relying on your existing followers, but i've just wrote about this, so i won't expand on it here again.

Yes, I have done it this way also up to now, just follow as many new people as I can.. but doing it with volume gets you a lot of suspended accounts. I am searching for something sustainable or at least longer lasting. I know a guy who just spams his cpa offers to his total 300k followers and makes $30/day. He is not following new people and he is spamming the same offer over and over again.. so.. the followers are good for some traffic.

Not bad for Twitter standards, but it's still pretty bad, if you ask me.

An email submit usually pays between $1 and $2, let's say, it pays $1.5.
He earns $30/day, he has 300k followers, that's one email submit per 15k followers per day, but let's say there's some shaving going on, which is the case with email submits pretty much anywhere, so it's one email submit per 7.5k-10k followers daily. But it's not even a certainty, that all those submits are filled out by his followers. It can be RTs or if his tweets appear in the Twitter search, it easily can be search traffic. So that one email submit per 7.5k-10k followers rate can actually be higher. That's why i said that the follower count doesn't necessarily tell you anything or correlate with the earnings. You don't need a single follower to generate traffic/revenue.

Also an account that big must have a measurable natural grow, maybe even a few hundred per day. Natural grow, which is the most precious thing on any social media site. That's one undeniable advantage of having a bigger account. The undeniable disadvantage is that if you spam the acc, it can get banned pretty easily.

True, the filling out an offer/followers is "bad" but in his case it's pretty good as the accounts were not related AT ALL. It wasn't also one account but several 10-20, dunno. The thing is, if the accounts don't get banned then this is just like printing money. It's not great money but nice passive income for sure. And to be honest.. why not do both? Follow new people (get the bigger portion of money) and then tweet to already existing followers and get extra money.
