    Hello,

Hello folks, i have very accurate question please : if there are a company named "any name" and they has a website "anyname.org" or "anyname.com", but they forgot to pay the $10 as a renewal fees, then Godaddy offered in the auctions and i won it in the auction !!! so well

Now the clear question is :

1-Does the old owner of the domain has any kind of "legal" rights to gets his domain back ?

    or

2-If he contacted with ICANN they can close this domain at all ?

Please note : that i changed the career and profile totally (they were something like education company and i turned it to gameing website)

    Thanks,
    Regards

No legal right at all, it goes back into the pool of names, they could if it's a brand name which has protection like trademark

If the domain name contains a trademark like nike.com u can't legally use it.

Should be fine, they wouldn't re-sell them only to strike you for it a week later

Ultimately it is to do with trademarking. If the name is trademarked you cannot use it and they can sue you and will ultimately win and get it back. If it isn't trademarked their bad and you can do what you want with it. So if the company is jacksjoiners.com and not trademarked, your ok. But if it was StarWars.com your stuffed.

Forgetting to renew doesn't automatically relinquish their rights to the trademark.
