Say I registered a domain name such as for example: productnamereview.com (productname will be substituted by a real name obviously).

Now once my site is indexed will everytime somebody types that into google will it be one of the top to show up because of the domain name?

I have a few websites I want to use this method on so I'm looking for some feedback on how to make this work.

    Thanks

    Tom

Can work, but not only by buying an domain name and write an review. You need to promote your site.

all things being equal (on page seo, backlinks, age etc) the site with the keyword in the domain name will rank highest. having the keyword in the domain name however is not a shortcut to the top. It is one of many SEO strategies to get there, although definately one of the best.

like theconfidence man said. The name in the URL is important. How long ago it was registered plays a role too.

I have a PR0 web site with 20 backlinks. I havent done a single SEO thing to the site. I didnt even use any header tags and such. Yet it's the #1 result in a highly competitive search. But since the name is in the URL and it was one of the first registered, it's at the top.

Also with the keyword in the URL, if people actually post links for you (it happens!ha), they will usually just put your URL, rather than an anchor. So of course if your keywords is in the URL it can give you a nice lil boost.

friendly url helps too. and remember to use dash ( - ) to separate the words. google apparently prefer dash over under score ( _ )
