I'm new to CPA offers, and am curious if I have to use the aff networks' creatives. For example - can I put an textbox on my own page, put a 'zip' label next to it and route it to the merchant's back end. I would think that this would work wonders for conversions. Thanks!

While most networks will allow you to modify the creatives a bit, if you completely change the creative to make it misleading and get caught, you'll get booted. For example, if the campaign is a financial zip submit paying $4 per lead, and you ignore the campaign creatives and create your own link/ad copy stating "hey, want a free ipod? Just click on this link and enter your ZIP" - you are asking for trouble.

While there are some on this forum who've probably done something quite similar, this goes beyond gaming the system and is fraudulent, and will get you booted without pay if your caught.

Thanks for the insight. What if you modify it without being misleading?Frankly, I would prefer to use my own layout and text without the garish graphics that usually go with a landing page developed by the merchant and/or network. My goal is not to be blackhat, but rather to improve conversions in a way that is OK with the network. -e-

If you are not being misleading, then you SHOULD be okay. I can't make promises for every network, but if you are actually helping get better leads/conversion for the end merchant, I can't see how you'd get booted. If for whatever reason the merchant/network doesn't like your creative, they'll probably just ask you to switch back to the regular creatives.
