I know bandit signs aren't allowed in many areas. Does anyone know the worst that can happen? I'm sure the law varies from city to city, but I haven't been able to find anything solid from searching online. I've read some instances where they say you can be fined $xxx per violation, so that means if you put up 50 signs that they could fine you $xxx for EACH ONE? That could add up pretty quick! I also read a story where the city sued a home builder $3K for putting up signs.

I have some really good ideas that I think could work well with bandit sign advertising, but I don't want to go bankrupt over it. :)

I've only heard of people getting fined. Some jurisdictions are stricter than others. Some signs last hours, some months, depends on where you are at.

I use bandit signs all the time in my city, it's illegal hence nothing has ever happened to me. It's a form of offline spamming and believe it or not the results depending on the offer is amazing. Just put them don't even think about it DO IT!

Good points. Well, I'm worried that they will collect my signs for months and then say we are fining you $XXXX for 134 signs.. I wish I knew if they were allowed to do that.
