Question about article comment spam and google's blacklisting of URLs in it

I'm wondering about how google interprets article comment spam, I realize obviously if you do it too much for a link they are going to catch on but what if the link posted is a redirect to another url... are they going to follow it through and blacklist the site that it is redirecting to? Any advice, info on this is appreciated
