Question about adding words to main domain keyword

What do you guys do when the keyword domain you find is already taken in just the "keyword.com" or using a - so its "keyword-keyword.com"?? Im asking cause I registered a few domains awhile back like "keywordstore.com" or "keywordreviews.com", and the one with reviews in it is ranking #1 but I cant get just the main keyword to rank.

Whats your guys take on this? If I cant get the exact domain or domain using hyphens -, should I just move on? Does adding an extra keyword like best, store, reviews, etc make a difference?
