I'm building a niche business directory, and I'd like to add a "businesses near you" box on the home page through ip tracing similar to that of "yelp!" Is there a specific name for this kind of thing? How much could I expect to pay for development?

I'm assuming it would trace their IP, find out roughly where they are, and search through my database somehow, I just have no idea how to implement it. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Through some google searching, I found that the name for this is geolocation. Can't find that many directories that use it.
