    Hello there,

I own a PR2 fashion blog (almost 2 years old) with original content and around 5k uniques per month.

I would like to know if it would be worth to hunt down a few advertisers to place monthly banners on it (like $30/month or something) or even sponsored posts from some people who are willing to get a few lifetime backlinks and a nice written 500 words post (although I have no idea how much that would worth - please suggest).

    Thanks!

    Jmirko15,

If you can successfully monetize the blog I think it would be worth it. You will want to be careful if you are manually posting banner advertisements on the site that you do not alienate your visitors. Platforms like Adsense do a pretty good job of tailoring ads based on your site's content however if you are doing this by yourself, make sure your ads will be received well by visitors. Other things that you will want to avoid is selling too much space and cluttering up the site. I have seen websites that have lost visitors because advertising.

Check out the "selling advertising" header about half way down the page at this link,

Read "additional blog monetization methods half way down the page at this link, there are some good tips,

Hope this helps you and good luck!

Create 2 new pages on your blog. "Advertise" page and "Guest Post | Write For Us" page. Mention that your blog is open for advertisement opportunities like banner advertising, sponsored posts, paid guest posts (don't accept free ones :D) etc. Stuff some competitive keywords on both these pages. Many digital media and SEO agencies use footprints in google to hunt down blogs for sponsored posts.

Also join payperpost.com and linkvehicle.com. I get an offer from these once a month or so.

    Good luck

Hey like you said:"or even sponsored posts from some people who are willing to get a few lifetime backlinks and a nice written 500 words post (although I have no idea how much that would worth - please suggest)."This would be a good idea, and usually the going rate is around $5 to $10 per a hundred words. Depends on the page rank... and people even charge a $100 for 500 words..

Thank you for the feedback. The thing is, I am not sure how I can reach such advertisers. Any ideas?

This is the best method. If you create a page or two optimised for SEO's looking to buy guest posts, you will get plenty of people emailing you asking if you would accept a post from them.

When they email you, you simply say yes you're willing to publish the post for them, but there's a fee of $xx

How much you can charge depends on the quality of your site.
