Question about 301 redirects and parasites

Some parasites have Domain Rank 80+ and you are able to get do-follow link from them which is pretty valuable. However, most of times PA is pretty low.

My question is, would this be option?

Buy high DA domains with millions of backlinks(pure spam) and 301 redirect it to parasite article with do-follow link to your website. From what I understand, parasite page will receive huge link juice. And it is pretty safe cause you aren't redirecting it to your website, only to 1 simple backlink.

Am I missing something?

High DA domains with millions of backlinks will only really become available once they carry a penalty and the owner drops them (the other option is you're buying it at auction - in which case, why are you bidding on a spammed domain?)

It worked in 2013 but I don't think that strategy will work now. You can still try it if you want to since a spammed domain won't cost much.
