    Hey Folks,

I was stupid enough to 301 forward my penalized site to my money site, It did rank for a few days, but as the title says - it got hit by google.

What would be the recovery procedure? the only factor I do not understand is - will it be un-penalized if I just remove the redirect or should i be disavowing links from webmasters?

    thanks

I might not be the best person to answer this question because I haven't experienced 301 penalty - but from what I have read, it is kinda okay to redirect your old penalized domain to new one. You might be experiencing Google Sandbox/Dance. I am not 100% sure, just sharing my opinion.

I'm pretty sure it's penalized - keywords went from 1st page to nowhere in the first 30 pages.. and the title tags have been 'moderated'..

    What'd you mean by that?

If your keywords just "moved down" a few hours ago then give it some time. Stop panicking. Apart from that, I'd remove the 301 penalized domain for the moment. If you are actually sure it was penalized.

What difference does it make? Or you're just asking out of curiosity and research purposes?

Don't you know the panda penalty, which changes your optimized title tag to a name of website or just a few words..

the site been down for almost a week now, and i did remove the 301 about 3 days ago..

That is not an indicator of a penalty by no means. Titles are changed by Google to make them more relevant to the content you have.

Just a view days is way to short to really tell if you got penalized because of the 301 the domain.

In that case, feel free to publish your sites URL.

I'm sure we can find a domain to test your theory

With Google a good time span could be 30 days. Search for good info about changes you need to do (maybe putting the wrong redirect could be even worse), apply them and wait. Google is slow for changes.

I think google is smarter than that as some people do report of a 301 penalty. But I've never heard of anybody penalising a competitor with 301-redirect.

    - I wouldn't do that as if something goes wrong, your competitor has proof that you did it.
