I was adapted to utorrent for so many years until 2016.
Since that, I hadn't used torrents to download.
Today I was looking to download it again but seems like utorrent is not the same anymore (open door to virus without download and slow).
If you have any suggestion to torrent downloader software I really appreciate it.

Avoid uTorrent, they lost trust after bundling crypto-mining software in their downloader. Bittorrent also went through some stuff when an owner or manager burned through all their cash so their software is questionable to me (Anyone hard for cash offering something for free always makes me question motives). qBittorrent, though, has always done me right. It's open-source and multi-platform, so you can see what's on the inside. And the community is strong too. Also, private trackers tend to prefer it, occasionally going so far as to ban uTorrent (or other clients).

Every other software developer is obsessed with cryptominers these days. There must be a av/malware programme dedicated to sussing them out. There just must be :/

Cool! I was about to download utorrent again when I got the insight to check it out how it is working nowadays, and I saw the article telling about the Crypto-mining.
Thanks for sharing the information to everyone.

Good question.
if its open source
inspect it yourself and compile it yourself to be that extra safe.
if you are code illiterate, then you just have to trust that they aint fucking you over really.

qbittorrent. Had some issues on my M1 mac, but after 2 reinstalls, it's all back to normal. I sometimes use Transmission as an alternative

I do seed on things (when they do force me to lol)

I use random connections for this

Also, lastly I do use a paid VPN (duh), I just pick honestly any country, i change it up at times, today could be japan, tomorrow could be russia.

I still achieve speeds as high as 10MBps (Megabyte), although some torrents just do give trash speed.

Utorrent on Windows, some older version 1.6 or 1.8 something. Flud (based on libtorrent) on Android. Since i don't really use Windows anymore, i use the latter.

Both support deleting the tracker(s) after the peers joined, which is cool, because it means free leech. No download is reported to the tracker. lol On some private trackers it's close to impossible to keep a good ratio, this trick can come in handy there. I'm doing this for 15 years now, i was booted only from Torrentleech once, but for instance IPT doesn't care or check this.
