I am being asked to feature some peeps vids on my chan - I am only asking they let me use em commercially so I can put adsense on them. They are down with it....

Now How do I go about doing this so youtube doesn't bust my balls about having the rights?

try to get something in writing that you can use to back up your case, should it come to that. I think anything like an email or some texts is better than nothing.

Yeah - I've had issues in the past where they are asking my to prove the rights to music. Which was my friend's band and he was totally stoked we used it. They asked me for a written form....

The problem was he had fucked off on his motorcycle to cali - with no plans - nobody knows where he is at. (Punks will be punks hah!)

But yeah, I doubt peeps would bother sending in written forms as they are so fucking lazy...

They usually accept screenshots of email conversations granting you rights, from my experience.
