Checked search couldn't find anything related.

Question: I am seeing people doing a lot of spacing between anchors, anyone know anything about this.

    For example: red w i d g e t s

    Anyone know anything about this?

Never seen something like that, but I guess they try to rank for only one word, wich in your example,is red.Usually most of people that dose this already ranked for the " red widgets" and now wants to go for red only.

That's my theory, don't take it for good, without checking!!!!

they probably have no clue what they're doing, or they read to do that somewhere. The bottom line is, if links don't look natural then they get devalued. How many people naturally link like that?

May be they have used some sort of software to create those links and that tool messed up with anchors. otherwise I don't see any reason for ranking such words provided there are searches for that keyword or he wants to rank for individual alphabets(which is unlikely to happen).

    Thanks
