I've been interested in learning SEO for quite some time. I've read literally hundreds of tutorials, answers, and even journey threads. The only part missing is taking action and applying everything learned.

Resources I have gained most knowledge from:

I'm going to create a niche/authority site which is quite broad in nature. I plan to review products & create posts around the product niche that have buyer intent. I don't like the idea of having a one-dimensional website (just a review site for example) as I feel that creating a well-rounded website that provides additional value is more beneficial. Thus, the site will include:
  • Product reviews
  • Information around the sub-niche (with buyer intent)

I plan on doing 1 product review with 10-20 blog posts around the product/sub-niche

How will I monetize my website?

I plan to monetize the website with clickbank. I will eventually test with CPA and CJ.

How Will I Be Doing Keyword Research?
Longtail Pro + Platinum - Find longtails with competition below 30

What is my SEO strategy?
  • Build 10-15 new/expired Web 2.0s and hit them with PBN links or contextual (will be mixing it up)
  • 5-15 links/day contextual W/ GSA (check out the above lightning blitz thread mentioned above)
  • Create parasite pages for the domain <- Spam with GSA Contextuals over 30 days
  • 1-3 press release syndications for the domain
  • Going to throw in a few other links to random pages to vary the strategy a bit

What is my site build With?
Genesis Framework + Genesis child theme

How will I be tracking my keywords?
Serpbook

The goal is simple, work my ass off and rank for as many keywords as I can. Check back after 30 days, and if not ranking, work on SEO some more (either more web 2.0s or PBN posts and change around the anchor texts).
Ideal Standards: 1 Post a day and 10+ web 2.0's created per day
Realistic Standards: 5 Posts Per Week and 50 Web 2.0's created per week.

Time to get to work.

Phase 1: Preparation

Using an Established Domain
I have a failed previous journey thread found here. The site failed because i didnt have a SEO strategy. I had 75+ posts on the site, and i'll be reusing them. The DA of the site is around 15 and it will be a good foundation

Optimizing the Site Speed
I wanted the site speed to be optimized as hell. I worked for a few hours to get the site speed up and loading time. I'll continue to work on this until the scores are higher. For now, these are the scores from GTMetrix.

Scrape Contextual Links Within the Niche

I'll be using Gscraper to find sites that i can post contextual links to. This list will be used to create daily links to my site as well as used to blast the web 2.0's/ Press Releases / Parasite Pages.

Thanks homie. You've done an incredible job paving a path for guys like me. Now its time to put in the work.

I'm a fan of you as you don't mind getting your hands dirty and doing some work... if you need anything at all hit me up.

I'm sure that I can throw some free SEO your way once you are in need at the very least as I'd be all sorts of "school girl giddy" to see you successful.

Finally! Someone that's took the time to read through the forums and come up with a plan of action. Already i can see with your attitude you will do well in this game.

All the best buddy - i'll be following this thread.

Update 1
I'm writing the content on the web 2.0's by hand and its taking a long time. Eventually, in the future, I'll reinvest 100% profits hire a VA to create 10 of these per day.

In order to pump up the Web 2.0's, I'll be testing out 2 different methods. the first, using strict filters on GSA (PR1+, OBL<30, contextual only). The second, i'll be using pbn posts to power up some Web 2.0's. I'm a strong believer in mixing things up, and I feel that doing this will help me in the long run.

Today: Wrote three 1,000+ word articles, and created 10 Web 2.0' with custom content for each web 2.0 property. Scraped a ton of contextual links in Gscraper, sifting through them as I type this.

Will have more details on future updates. Just busy working my ass off.

Update #2

Quick Background on the site:
as previously mentioned, I'm using the same site from my failed journey thread from months ago. Thus, the domain has close to 40,000-50,000 words. the site doesnt have much authority as i never did anything too crazy with the SEO side of things. Also, the content currently on the site is lengthy, yet not optimized for keywords. Its great filler information for google to see i have a ton of content around the niche, but i dont plan on ranking these posts. I'm going to leave the content on the site, and forget its there.

Daily Traffic:

Current Rankings:

Current Struggles:
Trying to scrape a high quality list of PR 1+ contextual links for GSA is taking longer than expected. For the web 2.0's that i plan to blast with GSA, i want a minimum of 500+ links to each web 2.0.

I am testing out a pbn service from bhw as a tier two for a batch of web 2.0's. having them be dripped out over 20 days.

Stats So Far:
Articles Created Since Start of Thread: 5
Web 2.0's Created Since Start of Thread: 30

If I'm able to stay determined and keep at this for the next few weeks, I have no doubt in my mind that I'll quickly start ranking for some long-tails. I'm disappointed in the speed that im working. I'm going to try and work on my self-discipline to try and get twice as much work done within the upcoming weeks.

Nice to see you're taking actions, actually I too was inspired by hekke's post on his guides & tips. I too had built some niche sites in the past by taking action using methods as shared in BHW. I ended up with some well designed WP site with good content targeting long tail keywords+LSI. Invested some money on linkbuilding (requires money the most) to money site, buffer site etc etc. I was promoting CB product, placed some call to action links but the conversion was bad. I spend quite some cash for a commision of $10 per sale and got only like 3-5 sale a month (if i'm lucky). Maybe it was luck or there were something that I didn't do right. Whereby some people here are making and sharing method of making $50 a day or $100 a day on CPA/CB/YT etc.

Hopefully you will achieve success and a great one that is with remarkable ROI. I'm follwing this thread hoping to learn what was the missing link that I've missed. I'm planning to give this niche site a try again.

Thanks to hekke and BTB for chipping in.

What's up OP? I'm interested to see where is this journey going

Update #3
Its been a while since ive updated this thread, figured Id catch you guys up to speed with my progress.

truthfully, over the holiday break, I didnt spend much time working on this project.

Progress So Far
-> Properly Silo'd the site using BTB's recommendations , found here
-> Added 1,000+ Words to the Homepage
-> added around 700 Words to the category page
-> Created a 1,500+ word Power Page to the site
-> Created 40 Web 2.0's & continuing to create more slowly.
-> Press release written and syndicated for a few pages on the site

Revenue
No revenues yet, as this is to be expected. I have about 20 days until school starts back up, and I've done my best to clear my schedule for the next two weeks so that i can focus on this project.

My Focus
As ive re-read through a few journey and tutorial threads, Ive come to realize that i should be focusing more of my time on getting the content up on the website. I'm going to make an effort to try and hit 3 new articles to the site per day. Backlinking is in the back of my mind, and I have a great gameplan, but I want to have at least 50+ posts on the site before i focus my efforts on backlinking.

Rankings

Final Thoughts
In the end, you get what you put in. I havent been taking this project seriously up until this point. I expect the site to grow exponentially throughout the next 20 days. In order to be more "accountable", i'll be posting daily updates here. Keep any eye on this thread and expect frequent updates with progress.

-> added 4 articles - between 1,100 and 1,900 words each, might write one more tonight.

As much as i am avoiding building the Web 2.0's for each page, I'm focusing my time on content for the site. Between the handful of threads I have been reading, i've come to the conclusion that "Content is King". I'm really excited to start backlinking soon, but before anything else, content.

Nothing much more to report!
