Ok I came across a 11 yr old domain which was still indexed in G as a godaddy parking page so I assumed its not banned by G, and I got it for $5 + the regular fees = $16.something .

I had plans of making subdomains on micro niches, but still , would love to have some suggestions from experts here. BTW, its a PR 0

I suggest you to use folders in your case, because as I heard people around here, google detects subdomains as new domains,so your best choice for the microniche sites would be to make it trough folders.

Make your main domain looking like an article website (ex. Articlebase,EzineArticles etc.) and then start adding articles, for each niche you want.

Good luck man,you have some work to do

So are you suggesting this?? domain.com/foldername/article.html or subdomain.domain.com/article.html

Wouldnt using subdomain be a good idea??

May be start putting some content .. and when you start getting some good traffic , you can put my Adsense over there.. :D:D:D:D lolol no I am just kidding..

okay.. so start your work as "secondeye" said to you..
and actually the whole thing matter is the domian name.. not the age I think..
if your domain is having a good keyword then you can make some money for sure.. else it will be very hard to work on even with 11 years old domain.

or when you start working on it .. you will have your own experience..

    Good Luck.. :top:

I would suggest using this www.domain.com/niche-name
    I wouldn't suggest Subdomain.domain.com/niche-name because it's some sort against google rules,and you'll get a penality

for that matter, blogger.com should be the fist one to be penaized :p .. ok my main concern is, if I go with the subdomain method, will i have to install WP on every subdomain or the wp multi site takes care of this?

I have a 12 year old domain, which I purchased couple years back. In my experience, though the domain age play an important role in ranking, that alone is not enough. You still need some half decent content and links. The advantage is that because of the domain age, you will tend to rank with less backlinks.

The idea of building a general site which covers lot of topic is always tempting. But it is lot of work. What I did was to concentrate on one lucrative niche with lot of competition and with regular backlink building I hit on page one within 6 months.

It is lot less work because you only need around 10 to 20 good quality articles and then you can cocentrate on building links. You can always expand to subniches later.
