Hello, lords of expertise, I've missed you.

I have a domain that is 7/8 years old, PR4/5

I have been purchasing services here for the last 4 odd years and conducting mainly Grey Hat and White Hat techniques. Plus I have learned exceptional amounts from you and have been implementing them along with GOOD PRACTICE, which I believe is best on aged domains.

We have around 80k back-links gradually built over the 7 years, built with Link Pushing, Angela Paul, Edu, Wikipedia, and X-Rumer blasts on non-direct or sub pages. The last activity on the site was around 12 months ago seriously, as I have wanted things to settle down and be organic.

I recently then purchased a service here with good ratings and lost all 50 top 5 positions KW.

We had built slowly first page results and top 5 Serps for around 35 - 50 keywords. Now, we have disappeared completely.

Granted I am loosing sleep that I have never experience a "dance" ever before in the history of the two domains used in this recent campaign. This will be the first time in 7 years that my domains have fallen off the map.

They have been off the map for since mid march when the work carried out was completed.

    EXAMPLES -

KW 1 before activity - Page 1 position 5 - After activity Not in the first 20 pages ( I call this sandbox )

KW 2 before activity - Page 1 position 2 - After activity Not in the first 20 pages

    KW 3 before activity - Page 1 position 2 - After activity Position 9

KW 4 before activity - Page 1 position 4 - After activity Gone from the index

The X-Rumer blasts were small 5k blasts on sub domains, or domains within a domain and not my own main money page. They actually were drip fed and created some really nice results which held during 2010 and 2011.

Basically speaking think I may have lost my whole business over a $200 trusted service. Am I now going to have to spend thousands for an expert to piece this together?

Kindly the company, who were quick to point out several times that buying product is at my own risk, did say they would do some research on the matter, but there were no guarantees in the service. I have not yet received any research results. I do wander if a disclaimer was clearly stipulated on sales pages such as:

"your rankings can dissappear completly or go up after using this service, we offer no guarantees" how many people would be interested.

I appreciate that, I would rather have no results however than lose my whole business. I am sure no service would sell a single unit if there was even a chance that the service would stop a business dead in the water.

I bought something in good faith, hailed as brilliant by the owners of this forum, I trusted their reviews. Needless to say the 5k I have spent on SEO over time seems to be completely gone to waste.

As the owners of the forum did highly recommend the service - perhaps they might be able to offer some optimistic guidance.

PS - I have just seen Jacob8 thread... perhaps this could be something I am not alone on ... and that google hates any form of link building and treats it as serious BH now...oh my god.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you, to some extent SEO now its a gamble... From my experience, a good method today can turn to a SEO poison tomorrow especially if everyone gets on board thus setting a pattern to the big G.

It's unlikely you will lose all your rankings from one service. If that is the case then people would just use that service on all their competitors and sandbox them!

You already had a strong link profile and I doubt these backlinks will have messed that all up for you.

I wouldn't be so sure. I used a certain 'secret' seo service from this forum that destroyed my rankings, from first page to -600 and to this date (months ago but only just joined this forum) they have not returned.

That's the downside to using cheap seo services, they want bulk customers and do not give a toss about your specific website.

Always test out services on a dummy site

    Just my two cents

Sorry to hear what happened to you man. Google isn't playing around anymore. The argument of "people would just use that service on all their competitors and sandbox them!" is completly 100% false. Now, the system works like this:

    1. Google detects that this domain is doing fishy shit
    2. Google waits and watches what you do after it detects you've done fishy shit
    3. Google either A) recovers your site without a reconsideration request B) doesn't do anything to your rankings
    4. If B is the case you're left with filing a reconsideration request. Use a service like linkdelete.com or just e-mail all website owners and ask for your link to be removed. Record everything
    5. Use the link disavow tool in Webmaster Tools
    6. File the reconsideration request to show them everything you've done to remove the links and which ones you've tried to disavow because you couldn't get them taken down
    7. Google does a Manuel review and says yay or nay. If you've built a brand for the last 7 years you'll be ok. If you havn't you're probably out of luck

Sorry to hear bro. There is nothing worse than waking up and an income stream is lost. Honestly, I think it is unfair of Google to change the rules like they did last year, but hey it is their search engine.

Google now looks at websites that do any kind of "automated" link building as an attempt to game their system. In a pure sense "white hat SEO" is doing no link building at all and allowing it to occur naturally. Now obviously in most niches this is either not an option or would take forever. I ain't got time for dat! So what do you do? Try to make your website look as natural as possible. Make sure anchor text rations look natural. Try to land links on sites that not just any Tom, Dick and Harry can link too. If you do otherwise, you are always playing with fire.

    Just my 2 cents.

I've recently lost all my rankings also so I know the crappy feeling(Was also from a service provider here). What I have learned from this:

For big important websites do not use crap services like 5000 links, or 200 links a day. What works is getting links from already etablished and old websites.

1: Every time you see a "legit" private blog network sell 50 spots buy it. (Only if its unique and not spinned content). This will slowly and steady build up strong and ranks that last.
2: Even though youre getting really strong links from small blog networks, you also need to diverse your link profile. Buy REAL facebook shares(I'm serious it works, and I have a website Pagerank 5 with 9k REAL facebook fans and 2k REAL shares, with no backlinks what so ever). Buy MANUAL comments(THIS is important step.) Just buy MANUAL HIGH PR comments ******** and nofollow with lowest OBL possible.(Choose the service which offers the lowest OBL).
3: Diverse diverse diverse. Every month buy some social bookmarks and diverse it even more by getting Document, Audio and video backlinks(Many good service providers for this).

So every month you rince and repeat the steps above. The less backlinks you create every month, the less you will have to buy every month. I like to have it at around 50 blogposts from high autority private networks, try to get around 1 or 2 manual comments every day average and I get some facebook shares, twitter retweets and social bookmarks. Works like a charm.

Oups forgot: anchor text variety. Keep moneykw at 10-20% tops. If its well known money term maybe keep it at 10%.

And important: Never ever buy a service which gives you unnatural high amount of backlinks.

By following theese steps I ASSURE you, that you can take in 10-20k search terms within 4 months.(Maybe expect loan etc).

    EDIT:

Yes it might be expensive seo services and cost you 1k usd before you actually rank, but if you hit an affiliate website which can bring you in 500-1000 usd, its fast money back, and more money to reinvest.

I assume you are mentioning owners of the forum likely to be "Moderators" who approved the BST. Most of the time mods will be approving the BST based on the reports and not based on the results.

If you feel, the final service which you purchased done the damage to your site, use disavow tool to remove those links and wait for the come back.

According to the number of links debbie speaking, I feel re consideration may do more damage than now. Another thing after disavow it may take few days to weeks to nuke these links. Before calculating that backlinks profile, submitting for re consideration wont work.

Google says in the link disavow press release here:

    http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2012/10/a-new-tool-to-disavow-links.html

Q: If I upload a file, do I still need to file a reconsideration request?
A: Yes, if you've received notice that you have a manual action on your site. The purpose of the Disavow Links tool is to tell Google which links you would like ignored. If you've received a message about a manual action on your site, you should clean things up as much as you can (which includes taking down any spammy links you have built on the web). Once you've gotten as many spammy links taken down from the web as possible, you can use the Disavow Links tool to indicate to Google which leftover links you weren't able to take down. Wait for some time to let the disavowed links make their way into our system. Finally, submit a reconsideration request so the manual webspam team can check whether your site is now within Google's quality guidelines, and if so, remove any manual actions from your site.

That you need to contact them after using the link disavow.

For the sake of the entire community, please mention which service you have bought that caused the negative ranking on your site so that we can be aware of that as well.

    Thank you.

Sorry to hear about the situation OP, it would appear that SEO is the least reliable and most unstable basis for any income stream.
