Psych!!!!!!!! Twitter Do follow link is now everywhere!!!

Links from Twitter are all Follow now. They removed "nofollow" on links in tweets.See it yourself :/

How will this affect your link building efforts now?
Do you think it will help get URLs indexed by tweeting a URL?
For short term it will surely help in indexing the new articles but later Google will fix this.

I'm really intrigued as to what made them change this.

I'm sure there's some SEO guru working for them knowing how much spam this will attract. Yet, they still went on with it.

Could be a plan to attract small news magazines to post more news and links?

On the one hand, it will increase bots that will be trying to spam links. Although, this is easily dealt with if Twitter wanted to, which I expect they would.

On the other hand, by making links do-follow, Twitter is opening itself up to a new audience and industry, so to speak.
Ultimately, I guess they're trying to improve their bot ratio.

What's there to fix? Ask Twitter to make the links no-follow?
Google could do something like this: Devalue twitter backlinks unless they have x instances from x retweets with x connections spanning x amount of time.

Google never bothered and even with this change it will not bother with Twitter links.
Everybody knows it's UGC (practically unmoderated) and there's a lot of spam there.
So if somebody thinks their websites will rise in rankings... they need to have a cold beer and chill.
Nothing... absolutely nothing will change.

Is Elon Musk behind this change as he has decide to buy twitter ? What he might be targeting with this ?
I don't think he is directly behind the decision since he does not have that power yet, but I do think his involvement and investigation of bots is a motivating factor.

Probably some junior dev pushed his local branch to master and they deployed it on production and synced all servers, same as recent G core update.

Soon will be fixed, mark my words :)
