Hey BlackHatWorld,

If you've been watching https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/dying-next-week-things-you-would-do-before-dying.926515/ you've probably noticed that certain members in the thread have been struggling with things like suicide, depression, and PTSD.

If a thread like that brought a handful of people to openly admit to the problems and hardships above, I'm certain that there are many more at-risk users that are also following it.

Guys, if you're ever in a dark place where you're thinking of taking your own life or feeling unsafe, call for help NOW. Even if you're currently fine, take the time to memorize your country's numbers as it could save your life in the future:

Humans, when afflicted with severely negative circumstances or emotions become inherently irrational beings, doing things we wouldn't normally do if we could observe our situation objectively. When you're in a dark place, don't let your last decision be one that you'd regret later. Please.

/ontopic, thanks OP for taking the time to create this topic, you would probably help a lot of people on here!

I don't need this but thanks for the info! surely you'll help members of BHW

Let me just say there is no shame in getting help. None. I wish my friends who killed themselves would have gotten help. If they had, I wouldn't have holes in my heart where they're supposed to be.

Also, anyone who makes you feel bad about getting help should be avoided, even if that person is a family member. I am speaking from experience: only a piece of shit would mock you for something like this.

No man is an island. Every single human being on this planet needs help with something. That is nothing to be ashamed of.

There is no right to life, but lets us assume, for argument, that there is.

The right to life also encompasses the right to die at a time, and place, and reason of the persons choice.

In some areas of the world it is common and expected that a person would end their life after a disgrace. You choice to assert that suicide is wrong is your choice, but it may not be the correct one. My position is that if a person wants to end their life, let them because it is their choice.

What if we live on a remote island under a coconut where there is no phone? What then? Should we hang ourselves on a coconut tree or write SOS in the sand and wait for help?

P.S. I am stealing wi-fi from a guy on the neighbouring island.

Ah yes, Google displays those numbers whenever you type in anything that suggests you're interested in killing yourself.

Beautifully put as depression is not a joke its a serious mental illness that needs to be tended too. I got help and still battle from time to time with it but I am grateful I have a wonderful supportive wife and family. Get help and realize your not alone.

That's interesting and not very much publicized.
Yeah, I thought it was a neat feature. It displays the phone number and a link to the online chat in a featured snippet at the top of the search engine results pages.

However, I do wonder what the CTR of the featured snippet is.

I am diagnosed "Bipolar." I find your post to poorly informed. Bipolar is truly a serious problem. A bigger problem is the drugs that are given to control it. The big drug class of today are SSRI inhibitors. SSRI inhibitors create more problems than they cure. At nearly 60, I have been diagnosed bipolar when it was known as Mania depression. I was diagnosed when it was a subject study at Bethsia Naval Hospital and and DR. Fredrick Goodwin was the chief researcher. Goodwin diagnosed me.

Do I ritualistically fantasize thoughts of suicide with grandeur delusions? No. Am I unpredictable and subject to mood swings? Yes. Guess who else was bipolar - Albert Einstein.

Save us from your Samaritan complex. It does no one any good!

Might be an awkward question, but what kind of stuff do I have search Google for in order to get those numbers displayed? I just tried a few terms but had no "success".

A simple research term can produce those numbers:

SSRI SUICIDE

So you're going to belittle someone else's problems because you think yours are worse?

Not. Fucking. Cool.

Not.

Really don't much care what you think. You subscribe to the pop psychology, just like the OP I responded to did.

It is all you fucking lay shrinks that think they know something about the subject when they don't know a thing. This is the source of the problem of jumping to conclusions without the requisite knowledge or understanding. This is also true of much of the bullshit SEO posts here too.

So, you know what? Fuck you and your guessing about that which you know nothing of. Have a problem with it? Then gain the basic fucking knowledge before jumping in head first.

Common (usually informational) queries with the words "kill", "self", or "myself" triggers the featured snippet with the suicide hotline number. If you search for any common queries with "commit" and "suicide" in it, the featured snippet will also appear.

However, if you search for uncommon search terms such as "I want to commit suicide, sir", the snippet will not appear.
