Proxy throttling concerns

Hi everyone, I'm interested in building my own proxy farm but had a concern.

I will be using the proxies to watch livestreams so there will be a lot of data usage occurring. Most cellular plans with unlimited data mention that high-speed data is available for the first 50 GB or so followed by throttling.

Has anyone ran into issues consuming a lot of GB every month from their cellular plans?

I just don't want to be blocked by a cellular provider like T-Mobile or something for consuming a ridiculous amount of data each month from a cell tower near me / raise any suspicions. Especially considering I plan to build a proxy farm so may have 10+ SIM cards connected to what I would assume is the same tower, but estimate about 60GB/month per SIM card.

Appreciate any insights.

Yes, the 50–60 GB high-speed cap before throttling is pretty standard, especially with big carriers like T-Mobile. Running over 10 SIMs in a proxy farm is doable, but you’ll need to manage traffic smartly. Some people reduce risk by spreading SIMs across different towers or using 4G routers with fine-grained bandwidth control. You can also rely on mobile proxies set up with slow session rotation, which helps distribute usage across SIMs while maintaining stability for streaming or scraping tasks.
 
First things first - why you want 4g to watch livestreams?
4g farm is overkill for such task.

I looked at residential proxies available and found they'd be too expensive. I figured building my own proxy farm would be most cost effective as I can get unlimited data for $30/month/proxy.

The goal is to livestream 24/7 and have at least 14 unique viewers.
 
So you want to make bot to watch your own livestream? Or I'm missing something? On what platform will be these livestreams?

Correct, on twitch. I plan on running the maximum allowed ads per hour and stream copyright free music 24/7 with botted views. So the proxy costs have to be less than my anticipated profit of $1.925 per 1000 ad impressions, with an estimated 54 ads shown per hour.
 
I bet you wont get payout because your browsers will get fingerprinted as bots and/or your traffic wont overall look real. Even paid solutions like dolphin and gologin may fail here.
If you would have programming knowledge how to execute this - I bet you would be banking hard on spamming TG/IG/FB whatever.
Consider fact that you may be wasting your time.
 
It’s kinda risky. Twitch can easily spot viewbotting if you’re not careful.

From experience: Yes, unlimited plans throttle after ~50 GB, and providers notice if you're hitting towers hard from multiple SIMs in one location.
Best workaround is mixing providers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T) and spacing SIM usage a bit geographically or using lower data intensity streams.
Also keep an eye on business plans - usually higher thresholds and less throttling.
 
Look, mobile carriers have 2 restriction systems:
  1. Plans with hard thresholds / hard throttle / data cap, like 50GB. In this case, speed is always strictly reduced after hitting the limit.
  2. Plans with premium priority / deprioritization. This means after reaching the limit (same 50 or 100GB), speed is NOT limited, but your phone's PRIORITY for that cell tower becomes lower. Priority changes only become noticeable during peak load hours on the tower.
    There are 2 scenarios after crossing the limit:
    • if the phone farm is in a less congested area where there aren't many people and phones overall, you're fine -- you won't feel the priority drop.
    • if the phone farm is downtown where crowds gather for events and concerts on Friday nights, you'll feel the priority drop.
Hard threshold plans are extremely undesirable for proxy farms, but this type is more common with crappy MVNO (virtual carriers) that you shouldn't use for farms anyway. Normal big MNO carriers almost never use hard thresholds -- they work with priority / deprioritization. Especially on prepaid plans and almost all business plans. These terms are always spelled out in the plan description.
