Proxies with HostPapa

I recently used a service that used proxies. When I saw the log detail, the proxies were clean but were Data Center proxies and provider was showing as HostPapa. Is it possible to find the service provider by looking at the detail?

What were you using the proxies for? If you're ok with datacenter proxies then it's normal for them to use hosting providers for the IP's
 
Hard to say which proxy service it is just from the logs. Best bet is to ask your service provider directly, especially if proxies are a core part of their service.

Yes, you can often trace back to the provider or at least the underlying infrastructure by checking the ASN (Autonomous System Number) or IP WHOIS data. If it shows HostPapa, that’s clearly a datacenter proxy, not residential or mobile. Some services use “clean” IPs but platforms can still detect them. If you're aiming for harder-to-trace traffic, mobile proxies tend to be much better in terms of source obfuscation and network reputation.
 
You can often identify the data center or hosting provider (like HostPapa) through IP lookup, but not the exact proxy service provider unless they own the IP block, include identifying details in reverse DNS or HTTP headers, or brand their IP ranges or DNS records.
