    Hi,

I'm setting up a bot that will scrape public proxies. Is it worth using these for social logins? or will I need private ones?

Is there any real use for public proxies?, for instance just basic scraping and no logins?

    thx :)

As in use public proxies to log in and manage IG or FB accounts? Yeah, that's not a good idea and will result in a lot of lost accounts.

You can use public proxies for scraping, or things like blog comments. They've lost some of their uses over time unfortunelty.

    Thanks eve121

Its tough because the private proxies seem quite expensive. How much you think can be scraped after logging in to facebook before bans start? I wanna do a lot of scraping behind logins, so is 10 proxies or so going to be enough? I guess this will only let me have 10 accounts? (with one proxy each)

Maybe I can set up my own proxies for this, any guides on how to do this?

FB is a pain in the ass for proxies. I doubt you'd even get past even account creation/login with them.

I don't have much experience with scraping FB or creating proxies, so I can't be much help with your other questions.

basically for Social media scraping it's not easy as you think because for that you will require tons of accounts and private proxies for running them.

Then need a proper solution which is able to do so.

And don't think to use public proxies for social logins.

    Yes, this ^

I'm just trying to get an idea of costs, no of accounts needed etc.

So for Facebook, IG, Linkedin - how many accounts you think I need for different activities? Ive seen somewhere that more than 200 searches as an amount on linkedin before a ban begins.

    1 Proxy for each account:

    Linkedin:
    - Connections (100 a day)
    - Scrapes (200 searches a day - but what does this mean? 200 searches where I get every paginated page? I wonder is there any idea of how many pages I can scrape in total?

I have no idea for FB or IG yet, would be grateful for some ideas.

For FB and IG you can better try out yourself because it depends on many factors like your account authority, how old are those, activites etc if that's very high probably you will end getting hundreds of results very easily in shoot else roadblock of securities comes in.

As for the Link e din as far i know they are very very restrict in that then any other network.

Public proxies are only good for bulk scraping jobs. Other than that, you need private.
