Proxies are Driving Me Mad!

Ok, I've read all of apekillape's very informative threads about charon and finding good anon proxies and so forth, but where I get stumped is, after I run them through Charon, I'm left with a list of supposedly good proxies, but none of them work! These are less that 24 hour old proxies and every time I try using one it's no good even after checking it! Am I doing something wrong? I have to be leaving out a step, is all I can think. Is there anyone who can offer up some advice. I'm literally about to start pulling my hair out here. :yield:

public proxies are useless. espacially if you want us ones. buy some private or semi private ones

Yep... Pretty much what frenchboy said. Public/Open proxies are crap. Even if they do work they will be so slow they are pretty much useless.

Just like frenchboy said... Private and/or Semi Private proxies would be better. Private requires a VPS running Linux and install Squid. Semi Private would be searching around for proxy service, proxy provider, etc...

I haven't had much luck with public proxies either, definitely frustrating. Can anyone recommend any reliable private/semi-private proxy providers?

Yes, I have been to them...

But man they are a pain in the ass to get payment to....

Any ideas how all of that works?
