Proof Metrics like TF Are a Complete Waste of Time

I'm not sure what you mean.

Are you talking about the backlink being removed, or the page on your site being removed?
Sorry.

I'm talking about expired domains and examining them. Each of them has some backlinks leading to the pages that no longer exist but still, there are some leading to them directly. So isn't better to take PA (UA) into account more than DA? Of course, as you said before, and I totally agree, one needs to check the backlinks manually. It's only about a rough estimate.

Thank you.

None of that PA/DA stuff is important. You only use DR/DA as a rough guideline for a domain. Don't get too caught up over what's better. That's all completely meaningless, believe me.

If a link is going to a 404 page it's not counting. Rebuild pages or 301 them.

I never check UR. It's not something even on my radar. These metrics are so useless that DR just serves as a rough "filter". Going page level is pointless because of that.

So if you don't rebuild those pages or use 301 you lose "all the power" flowing from those links? Is it a common practice to rebuild/redirect those pages when snatching an expired domain or some people don't care about that? Is there any sense to rebuild if the links (outside of the main page) are of low quality?

Sorry for so many questions. Thank you.

OK it’s all well and good to say that x, y or z metrics are ‘useless’ or ‘ok’ or ‘less useful‘ than other but what perimeters have you actually been using to assess and measure these efficacies reliably against each other and in themselves if I may ask?

Yep that's correct. If they're low quality you don't really need to know. It's a decision you make depending on the site.

The backlinks to the site of course. What else would there be? Why would you rely on metrics when you can just look at the backlinks? But it's not that difficult. You know straight away by what people are bidding. If a domain is going for $700 at auction, then it's going to be good and doesn't require an in-depth analysis. If a domain is going for $20 on godaddy, then it's probably not that great, but it might be OK'ish. People don't miss stuff. You won't get a $1k level domain for $50 at auction.
