    Folks.

I'm close to having an iDevice app completed and I'm looking for input or feedback on how to best get the app promoted.

    • It's an education app for young people. Meaning that the parents will have to be the one to install it (and most likely encourage its use).
    • I'm not going to give the name of the app for obvious reasons.
    • It's not free and will be 2.99-4.99.
    • I already have the AppName.com URL.

    I plan to...

    • Have a Facebook Fan page and buy 'Likes' to increase initial interest
    • Do the same with Twitter followers
    • Promote on blogs to my target audience
    • Submit press releases
    • Hire someone to email market (as the consumer industry is not my specialty)
    • Get video reviews to post on AppName.com URL

    Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Is there a way to quickly get positive reviews to help bump the numbers other than asking friends to help?

    Thanks!

One thing I have done with an app we have that also had children in mind, and needed parents on board, was we offered a "kickback" to the schools as a fundraising piece.

So our app was actually $7.99 per month, and we would give $5 per month back to the school for as many months as the parents remained signed up. So even though you may take a little hit on the actual price of the download, you can give back to your community schools and get parents on board knowing a good portion of their money is going back into the community.

You can also use TwitMob to find tweeters that are heavy influencers in the parenting arena. There are a TON of mommy bloggers out there too. Some have heavy followings. Just offer them some kickbacks or free programs (like 10 or 20 downloads for free for them and friends or to use as a contest) when they write about your product.

    - buy ad space on toucharcade.com (from buysellads you can)

    - collect the emails of schools around and mail them info about this app (if you think this will be helpfull for them)

Wow - these are some great ideas. I'm not familiar with any of the services as creating an app was never of interest until the idea hit me.

I'd love to collect 7.99/month and have a massive following. $5 of each app is a lot, but I'm sure you realize the difference it makes to partner with them.

    Happy Monday everyone.

Any new updates or thoughts on promoting my app?
