Promising blog, but traffic won't increase

You can try social signals as well if you have not explored it yet. Try to write viral articles that get automatically shared on social networking websites. This will certainly boost the rankings of your website. Another possible reason may be not good authority. Have you claimed authorship of the blog ?

By social signals, do you mean like adding a post on reddit?

Claiming authority is done through webmaster tools right? Then I've done it :p

Krishnaverma, you got me thinking about authorship (not quite the same, but doesn't matter) so I finally got round to linking my G+ page to my posts, so in certain cases my picture will show up in the serps. Hope this helps.

Also, I would like to give something in return to BHW, so I'll share my best-working link-building method.

Add a relevant link to a relevant wikipage! This might be an old trick, but it provides a lot of traffic - pretty good traffic too, they don't bounce and lookup multiple posts/pages. How do I place them and have them stay there?

If there isn't one already, add a category to the wikipage saying 'Further Reading' or 'External Links'. Then, place a link to the relevant content on your site with a proper description. A lot of my descriptions look like this;

'an introduction to [...]'
'a personal view on [...]'

Because my articles of course aren't exactly scientifically based, but just 400 words of hitting keywords through a readable story :p

Anyway, hope this helps getting you more traffic!
