    Hello,

I've been hearing mixed opinions about this topic. Do profile backlinks from websites such as forums, or directories matter in terms of LB and site ranking?

    Thanks!

I didn't hear anything against it yet. Profile backlink from high authority pages are increasing your page authority. Make sure it will be indexed, and everything will be ok.

Depends on if its spammy or not. Some are fine, but you can't rank just off it like 2009 anymore.

They're great for diversity, but don't expect too much out of them

What would you define as spammy?

My current SEO team, they create a profile, upload avatar, write about me and then post a backlink. Is this considered spam?

    Another question,

If I have a dog related website, and I go out and find forums, directories, and blogs related to dogs. Will those profile links help out? Anybody know?

Anyone have any specific case studies on this topic.

There still seems like a lot of confusion about this topic. Some people have told me, a link is a link. My team has always checked for high PA and DA sites for forum and profile backlinks.

I think Angela might still be selling them.

I don't use them anymore, not much value to them in my opinion.

Yep, stay away from xrummer style blasts, but profiles link do work... check out Knowem and work your way through the list, great for branding, not ranking.
