    Ask your mom
Buy a domain and a hosting and create your own email with your domain name as suffix.

Create your own domain and log into your cpanel... you can either get the emails via SMTP, Webmail or what I do (just forward them to one that I use... if I want to, I can then log onto the 'official' email and send from there. One of these days I'll get around to setting Outlook up for all of them).

I have several 'professional' email addresses due to domains that I host - including one that is myname.com (used for self promotion when I was looking for a job).

    you have basiaclly 3 options:

    Easy one:
    1) Use email forwarding with godaddy, you will receive emails without problems but most-likely will not be able to send them
    A little bit more complicated:
    2) Buy yourself a hosting, you will able to setup your email in no time and use it without any problems, but if hosting server will go down - your email will not be working
    Cool one:
    3) Get yourself google apps, it is not very noob-friendly to set them up in the first place but you will have 100% uptime , 100% email sent guarantee and nice-looking like-a-gmail webmail access.

Do you know how to log onto your cpanel? ( yourdomain.com/cpanel )

Go into it and look for the Main section... there you can either setup an email account for you to log into, or set it up to autoforward an email to another one you log into.

You can also use Gmail on your own domain and have your address anything@yourdomain.com with all the great features of Gmail :)
