As a publisher, I love WordPress.

And since I don't have comments on, I don't have to worry about spam.

But sometimes I like to post to other WordPress site's comment section -- really good stuff too (no spam), yet my comments never get posted... always tagged as spam.

I must be on some WordPress comment blacklist.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Ive had this problem before in the past. The best way to get around it is to contact Askimet directly and explain whats happened. Write them a nice polite message saying that you cannot post comments anymore, plead ignorance about your previous comment spam and ask to be unblocked. If you had loads of spam complaints about your previous comments, this may not work. Give it a try though it worked for me ok.

    Code:
    http://www.akismet.com/

Seems, that your IP is blocked from akismet...

Try to change your IP / take a proxy etc.

I know that with my proper blogs that I allow comments on, All comments are moderated, and I only go in once a month or so and approve the non-spam ones.

So there could be a human neglect factor going on as well.

I know this isn't an "All comments are moderated" issue because I've seen comments posted immediately, but mine are not.

I've tried everything -- cgi proxies to using bit.ly to not filling in my website address. Still no dice. Maybe I need a better proxy... can you recommend the best for me?

I'm unclear about "activating akismet on my dashboard"... that's for stopping spam comments, right? I'm looking to post real comments on another WordPress blog.

By the way, how would I go about contacting akismet?
