I need to charge my client. For years now I haven't fill out any forms or anything. Just a simple invoice.

They want me to fill out [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Form W-9. I have never heard of it. I told them I worked in USA before, but I am not american.
So what to do, what should I say, I live all over the world and dont spend any time in my original country.

Any suggestions? If I fill out it with fake info the IRS will I guess send them a notice right?

    What to do?

if you have not been claiming it you are kinda screwed... you will need to backdate a lot of tax's and may need to pay fines...

If you have copies of all the invoices then add them up...

Oh... tax... ouch. Yeah... that is a problem indeed. I had been thinking about this. My friend and I have been pretty good at designing websites and we want to start a company and offer services to professionals and businesses. The problem is we're thinking if we could get away with avoiding the tax at first. But last night we spoke on the phone and agreed we shouldn't risk it. As it could bite us in the rear in the future.

I am not american, I put american adress on invoice but I dont live in states anymore. I stayed there only for few months.
So what to do now? I live each year in different country because I freelance. So should I put Chile, Mexico, Brazil adress on each invoice? I mean that is just stupid.

I am not planning to go to the states anymore anyways, because I dont want to pay stupid money if I can live anywhere else in the world.

Just get a virtual address in the US for $50 - $100/mo and have them forward your mail anywhere you want.

Tax questions are a serious thing and you should not rely on "forum advices" when making such important decisions (you know, you can end up in jail for tax avoidance).

Tax legislation is different for every country - you should consult with an accountant in the country you live in. You will then know what you need to do in order to pay your taxes properly. Usually, you need to register your business, but there are some exceptions.
