Hey, some of you may know this but for those of you who don't;

when you add an item into your cart on GoDaddy and leave it there for a while (like half a day or something) they email you with a discount coupon like desperate hustlers that they are, hoping that you will check out.

This isn't the only registrar that does this so test around.

Nice tip, I didn't know this

Your tip is very helpful though for those that do want to use them.

Good tip! Going to try this next time

what is wrong with GoDaddy ?

They constantly try to upsell you, they pay for every single thing they can even if other registrars don't do it. For example, you have to pay to use their marketplace. You have to pay to park domains. You have to pay for whois privacy etc and they employ sales tactics like the one in my OP. None of the other registrars charge for any of these.

I don't know why people use GD but if you are domainer, you will HAVE to use GD, it's impossible to avoid. Also, their marketplace is pretty good for selling domains as well as their domain closeouts.

i use them because they are cheap but come on when you compare the price you got a good deal. I think other providers overprice domains .

Cheap? What do you mean cheap? They are among thr most expensive registrars. Where are you looking?

What I do to get $0.99 .com domain (or $1.17 with ICANN fees) from them is use a VPS. I registered over 20+ domains with them already.

awesome! Trying this right now. Will be back later.

This isn't really a pro tip, it's abandon cart. Try it with any company, most do it including amazon. I got 55% off grammarly by abandoning cart

Just use namecheap. Ive been using them for more than 3 years without any problem whatsoever.

Or just google godaddy coupons, and use the codes from sites like retailmenot :)
