If you use private blog networks do you still have to ping and build links to the blogs or will the network take care of all further tier link building for you?

If so this sounds like it would greatly speed up the process that I've been doing at the moment.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using such services? Here's a few that I can think of myself at the moment - let me know if you think they're correct or not:

    Advantages:
    Quicker
    Better value links (higher PR)

    Disadvantages:
You have to pay to stay on them (not sure about this one)
You don't own any of them so you can't build on them and create a good Web2.0 portfolio

Private blog networks, your posts stay (you don't have to keep on paying).

It's really kind of apples vs oranges, both are great. If you use both you get better link diversity.

Both private blog networks and web2.0s are a lot of work. You have to produce quality spins for private blog networks and web2.0s. Certain private blog networks (like buildmyrank) are a LOT more work because the content you provide them must be hand written (not spun).

With web2.0s you're not surrounded by crappy unrelated posts ... it is as quality as you want it to be.

Now I see you say you're looking to save time. If the issue is time, you should outsource ... something like linkpushing.net, fiverr jobs, the whole BST section, spend a little money on outsourcing ... that's the only way you're going to save time.

In another thread I mentioned something I'm about to start, a case study in the same niche launching 5k web 2.0s/week vs 2k or so high PR blog posts (and pyramiding each one of those on top of that with a few million links).

At present my theory is that, the web 2.0s will win, despite my better judgment though, I'm thinking this may be incorrect. As shoving pyramids to high PR blogposts has been extremely effective (and fast, web 2.0 structures take weeks)
BMR also does accept spun content.
Well spun 7-10 sentence replacement articles will be posted there about 90% of the time.

I'll add that short hit and run's of 1-3 months in each network seem to be better than sticking to just one for a longer period.

HighPRSociety is better than BuildMyRank, I recommend trying them out instead.

The reason it's better is you can get the direct links, and blast them with HQ backlinks :D
You can do this with BMR though, and BMR is much cheaper if you're really devoted to SEO.

In my opinion BuildMyRank is best and will stay best. Unique content and you don't have to pay monthly.
HighPRSociety offers cheap articles (spun content that's getting better and better noticed by google) and blogroll links you have to pay monthly.

Yup I'd pick 50 BMR articles over 50 private network any day! Web 2.0 are amazing don't get me wrong but I don't compare them. You should aim to have a mix of both & more! Diversity is the key to a sucessfull link profile.

The Supernova 2.0 service provides a private blog network at the center of various link pyramid structures and a divers blast of links to the main site. Since launching in late November it has increased hundreds of SERPS.

I think Web 2.0 can be very valuable and a key part of the wider diversity picture, but at the moment I could not achieve the same results with a Web 2.0 structure that I do with the private blog network driven Supernova 2.0 approach.

Full disclosure: I am a partner in the service.

ZennoPoster is considered to be the best tool for automating these tasks.

Since when has cheaper meant better? I've always been under the impression that you pay for quality.

I'm not hating on BuildMyRank, as I've never tried it before. I just know from experience that HighPRSociety works if you have the money to make the most of it.

As or articles, why on Earth wouldn't you pay for custom articles? That way you can insert your own spintax and submit it as many times as you think would pass.

Again, that costs time and/or money, depending on how you go about it, but good backlinks are easier to obtain if you have the money to buy them.

Also, I'm not saying HighPRSociety it the greatest, I'm just saying it's one of the best that I've tried (especially when used with other great backlinking services). I'm sure there are even better private networks out there just waiting to be found! Anyway, just my 2c. Take it with a grain of salt, just like you should for anyone online.
