    Hey all,

I'm really bad at following through with projects, so I thought maybe this would help me stick to it. The goal of 1k/month is not really fixated, but i thought i might as well set one :D I'd be able to live off of that income even though im in a 1st world country as i live a rather frugal lifestyle.

    About the project:
I'll be using Printful as from what my research has shown, they offer everything I need (for example you can create 3D mockups of items for free) and more. Also Ive heard they have the best support of all the POD companies and handle returns well too (maybe someone else can chime in here?). I plan on selling the items (havent decided which ones, printful offers a ton) on Etsy, which was inspired by @William702 's Etsy threads, which are definitely worth a read.

For the designs Im using a unique twist that should have a decent demand (cant say more on this part of the journey, sorry!). I plan on starting out with rather low prices/coupons to get a first few sales and reviews, which should then allow me to raise the prices.

    Roadmap:
    - Get designs ready (might take a while because of my twist, this should be the biggest workload in this journey)
    - List designs on etsy
    - Get traffic to etsy listings
    (- Add more designs)
(- Create own woocommerce shop to sell there too)

Awesome! Hopefully my journey is successful so I can motivate you to look into Etsy some more :D

    My progress so far:
Still working on the design stuff, but its actually going better than expected. This will probably take a few more days and then I could theoretically start listing on Etsy. However I probably should create a company before doing so, so everything is legal :) Only problem with that is, that I wont be able to do all of that official stuff until in around 3 weeks. I will see if I'll just list my stuff a bit before or if I'll continue working on the design side for a bit longer than planned.

It's going pretty well, thanks for asking! Still working on designs, but now specifically looking at what i want to print them on. I mostly want to go with all over prints, which means the whole shirt is printed with my design, like this example:
    main-image.png
Also have to make sure the base prices by printful allow for a decent profit margin still.
Now it's time to fit the designs onto the products (a bit complicated with the all over prints).
After that I will set up an etsy account and see if I can list things the way I want to :)
Once all of that is done, I should be ready to start selling!

Found a service that will print your t-shirt with a pattern on the whole t-shirt? This question interests me a lot, because at the same time you began your journey on etsy.

I'm glad some of the Etsy stuff inspired you to get started with this. I will be posting a new etsy thread soon with some helpful tips and info. You may also want to check out this thread if you have not already. https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-t-shirt-printful-adventure.1052261/#post-11329732

Awesome, hope it works out for you!

    Small update:
Designs are theoretically ready, but I'll still try to improve them a bit.
Created an etsy account and got that set up, still have to add a profile picture etc though.

Im planning on doing all of that in the next 2-3 weeks and then I can finally register a company and legally start selling :)

Have you tried to order samples from Printful? I saw some videos on Youtube that the t-shirt quality is not that great. I am thinking about starting my own POD business and i am choosing a platform now. I will definitelly follow your journey

Thank you! I will update this journey once I have some news, was a bit busy with other stuff the last few days. Best of luck with your store! :)

Hey, I haven't ordered samples myself yet, but watched some comparison videos. From what I've seen, Printful offers the best quality, branding (packaging has your brand logo etc) and support. But of course they're also the most expensive, so probably more useful when going for 'premium' products. I also like how on printful (printify doesn't have this for example) sellers can rate the products printed by printful. From what I've read from those other sellers the quality is pretty good (they often also post pictures). However I will probably 'soon' be ordering some samples, so I can give you a more detailed review :)

Awesome, thanks! Good luck with your journey :)

Goodluck man, I have been listing on Etsy for awhile and have gotten like 8 sales in 5 months. Although I never tried hard with etsy thats why my sales did go well. Anyway Last 2 months I have been listing constantly. For my experience, you just need 1 or 2 designs to win. I havent found a proper winner yet but scattered sales. How are you plannning to bring traffic? My sales came through Etsy SEO but i need outside source to boost my store i guess.

Glad to hear you're getting some sales at least, keep it up! I hope my products will naturally have a higher demand as they're rather special and nobody else is doing what I will be doing. But aside from organic etsy traffic I think I could do well with some Instagram shoutouts or Reddit marketing.

Yea, Pinterest should work well too, I haven't used that at all though, but I might look into that for traffic!

So far in my opinion try to target a niche, I tested some and so I haven't gotten a good niche since its super competitive. Also target like holidays or festival. I got sales around Christmas this time I will be prepared early on to cash on these festivals.
