Print on Demand is not dead! Journey to 10k a month.

Thank you so much for sharing. I am a software engineer and I want to learn to sell T-shirt on etsy for passive income. Can i contact with you for learning tips and tricks? If yes can you message me, thank you.

I'm not coaching, but feel free to ask anything you like
may i know if it is graphical t shirt or just wording meme t shirt?

Graphical and a mix of wording + graphical, but no designs with just a font and a quote.

Na du, nice to see another journey thread, especially since I‘m also testing the waters with Etsy at the moment. Please keep this thread updated ! Viel Glück!

UPDATE

I did not add any designs since last time, but did a lot of research and thinking about my next moves. I also searched for new mockups and created about 4-5 new high quality designs myself. With high quality I mean clever designs which are a little bit out of the box. I want to add a few new products in the coming days. Other than that sales are increasing in all shops which is awesome. I also fired my main designer like mentioned in the last post and paused the new designer for now, because I need to catch up with all my ideas and designs.

Earnings yesterday:

Shop 1:

10 orders = tbh, no idea, there were some high margin products in it, so I think about 150$ atleast

Shop 2:

1 order = 10$

Shop 3:

0 orders = 0$

total: 160$

I also wrote the shutterstock support and got my 230$ back. So I made about 400$ yesterday.

For making this journey more fun I will include opinions from the community. I'm currently creating new mockups and will let the forum decide which backgrounds I will be using. The pictures are taken with my phone and low quality, because I do not want people to steal my mockups.

Classic white mockup, can't go wrong with it

IMG-20220726-WA0009.jpeg

Light blue which is quite harmonious in my opinion

IMG-20220726-WA0015.jpeg

Light yellow which gives a nice contrast and maybe makes it pop and stand out as a thumbnail beside all other shirts in on the platform.

What do you think? Feel free to vote.

great! From my point of view, I think the blue mockup needs go with the yellow background because it will highlight the mockup,
otherwise if you want to mix blue color in the design mix it with the nearby color in this color wheel such as purple or light blue.. :D

A few years back I was struggling to choose a background that would work best for my t-shirt shop and finally decided to go with white or a light gray. But for my Etsy shop I would choose a dark mockup and a background color similar to the t-shirt's design. I liked the idea, it made a nice and consistent pattern.
That said, I couldn't even make a single sale : D

I have some questions, hoping you can help me answer them :D
1. I have a new Etsy shop and I want to build a POD shop with Printity or fulfill through a Platform (without any membership fee) in my country :D
2. Do you build 3 accounts on one device or do you separate them into different ips and devices?
3. Do you have any advice for boosting orders for a new shop? (run ads some first days or sth...)
4. How much money did you deal with a freelancer for one design?
I have some experiences in the past with POD and a platform in my country but the FB ads accounts are disabled a lot.
I decided to change to another platform like Etsy for free traffic. Hope you can help me with the beginning steps. I very much appreciate that.
Thank you very much.

Did you design deep insight into the niche? or just find the good keywords on Erank and make a design for that keyword (mutliple niches)?

1. Printify is the best in my opinion, by far.
2. I have created all 3 accounts on one device, and I'm using them on all of my devices. It is legal to create more than one shop and if one shop goes down, every shop will go down anyway, because of shared bank accounts and documents. So IPs dont matter.
3. I have some basic advice, sell everything dirt cheap to get reviews, also let someone else buy some stuff and let them write a review. You don't have to send it out to your friends/family so you just pay the etsy fees. It's nearly impossible to make sales without any reviews.
4. Basic Designs I'm paying 2$, I also have a few high quality designs that I pay 45$ for each of them.

I hope that answers most of your questions.

I try to do at max 5 designs per niche. I'm not getting to deep into the niches but I'm trying to change that approach now. Until now I just searched for keywords on Erank

Hello tigertigertiger
I am struggling to make sales on Etsy. Could you please let us know what service you buy from Fiverr for your shops. Like any rakning services?

Thanks in Advance

Sadly I can not reveal my seller on fiverr as of now, because he has limited capacities. But atleast I can tell that I would not pay for any listing SEO services. I tried a few and I did not have any success.

UPDATE

Like said in the last post I have created a few HQ (in my opinion atleast) Designs and made already 2 sales with one of them. I think this could sell very well in the future. Other than that I prepared 100 Mockups and need to start listing them, but I realize that I'm getting a little bit lazy again. Not really lazy but It seems that I don't have much time at the moment, my tracking app says I only worked 13h on the shop last week, which is not enough. My aim is to get it to atleast 20h a week.

Earnings yesterday:

Shop 1:

13 orders = about 180$

Shop 2:

3 orders = 51$

Shop 3:

0 orders = 0$

total: 230$

Yesterday was an amazing day. I think my store has currently a small boost from the algo which is very nice to see. It seems like I will do atleast 200 dollars today too, which would bring me to 6k a month long term. Lets see where it goes.

Seems you are just money magnet.
Whatever you do, you get tons of money from anywhere.
Thats the way it seems to be. Many people loose everything they put out, second group of people earn lots of money from thin air, from basically nothing.

How long it took for you etsy shop to make some 100$ a day?
1 year / 2 years?

Hello, and best of luck in your journey mate!

i have a little question though, what niche was your youtube channel? Can you please tell us what niche, and also did you grow it organically from scratch?

Depends. First Shop before the close took about 6 months I think. This time I opened the shop in september and had 100$ a day in december already but it declined after that. Stable 100$ took like maybe a year. But to be honest. It gets harder each year.

UPDATE

Still adding some more products slowly and working on 5 fronts again, because I can't focus. But luckily all fronts are on etsy, so I'm still making progress. I tested a few new designers, but sticked to my main one since he's the best. I'm currently paying him 10$ a design with a very good quality. Ordered another 100 designs, 20 per week. I also partnered with the manager of my VA show him how it's done and provide some designs for a cut of the earnings.

I think I'm currently making about 150$ a day but I'm not really tracking it at the moment. September will be crazy. Earnings last 30 days.

Good results, but how do you drive traffic to all your shops?
