This is already my second Journey, my first thread is a bit old so I decided to start a new one.

You can find it here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-daily-hustle-journey-to-10k-dollar-a-month.1066507/

Good things first, I achieved my goal from 2018 to get 10k dollars a month, but I think only 2 months in total and a lot of things happened inbetween. Let's update the past. The Background story is quite long and can be skipped, It just shows how many possibilities the Internet has to offer regarding making money.

Background

I'm 30 years old, from germany and english is not my naitive language so I apologize for any minor mistake in advance. Second most noteworthy thing is that I'm a lazy fuck. Unorganized and lazy, which is the reason for this thread in the first place, to keep things organized and me motivated through social pressure.

I've stumpled upon making money online in early 2016 because of my laziness of not wanting to work in a real job beside university. Tried twitch streaming, selling perler art on Kickstarter and growing instagram acounts. Everything worked more or less, but not to a degree of living from it. In May 2016 I tried buying shoutouts from influencers and fanpages on instagram and selling products using dropshipping and shirt fulfillment sites (teezily, teechip, teespring, viralstyles) and it boomed. Working 10h a week I made about 28k dollar in September 2016 alone, which was the record.

The niches I was selling in declined slowly and after the timeline change from Instagram in 2017 it was more or less a hit or miss and I stopped doing it. Instead I bought 2 Accounts with 300k follower each for 500 dollar per account and sold them a couple of weeks later for 4k dollar and 7.5k dollar. Now I'm still occasionally buying and reselling instagram accounts.

In mid 2016 I also had an over the counter deal for Iota - 10k dollar for 1TI, which I declined, because my ex girlfriend thought it would be stupid. In November 2017 this would have been worth 4.5 million dollar which was the biggest regret in my life.

In 2017 after the break up I finally started to invest in cryptocurrencies with 5k dollar and started day trading and later also market making on smaller exchanges and also translating ICOs from english into german and soon my 5k dollar were worth 50k dollar in around 6 months. Lost 20k in the big crashed and cashed out the remaining 30k dollar.

At the end of 2017 I started an etsy shop selling shirt, which hit 3500 sales a couple of days ago, and a few weeks ago another etsy shop which hit 100 recently.

So I got my bachelor degree already in mid 2017 since then im wasting my life, not working at all and just making party and having fun and working around half an hour a day to keep the etsy shops alive. This has to change immediately. in 2018 I started my Journey focussing on etsy but, in Feb 2019 I decided again to switch my focus and started growing my Youtube Channel.

Youtube was very successful, in two months I managed to get to 10k subs and constant 100$ a day. In May (3 months after starting) I had my first month with 6.500$. Sadly in may also my Etsy Shops got suspended. I got lazy again and my Youtube channel dropped to about 700$ a month. I decided to sell it in Dec 2019 for a sum I will not disclose. I'm still in good contact with the new owner and the channel reached 100k a few days ago.

Until September 2020 I did a few stupid projects and nothing really worked. So I decided to take my first real Job for 20h a week in a digital marketing agency. Spoiler warnung: I still work there. From September 2020 until today I had a lot of funny projects with a JV here on BHW we growed a TikTok Channel to 80k Follower, a new youtube channel and sold videos on BHW. I also started a new Etsy shop from scratch in September 2020 which the Journey is about. In december 2021 I made 9k profit on etsy which was the highest until now and I hope I can beat this by quite a Margin. I now decided to cut all other projects and keep my focus on my Shop(s).

As you can see in my background story, you can make money everywhere. You only need to be smart, work hard, be creative and have some luck. Youtube, Etsy, Tiktok, Crypto, Instagram, Dropshipping, nothing is dead if you give it a twist and think outside the box.

Present

I have currently 3 Etsy Shops all with different products and different success. Each of them is selling POD (and 2 fiverr gigs I'm "dropshipping"). All orders get fulfilled by Printify, but I also used Gooten and Printy6 in the past and might use them in the future again.

Earnings Yesterday:

Shop 1:
9 orders (very high margin products) = not sure between 200-300$ lets say 250$

Shop 2:
3 orders = 30$

Shop 3:
0 Orders

Total: probably about 280$, but yesterday was exceptional. All of these numbers are profit. I made over 500$ yesterday in revenue.

Expanses:

Currently I'm upscaling so there are a lot of expanses this month:
Printify: 25$
Erank: 10$
1 fulltime VA: 300$
Fiverr services (ranking, backlings, a few designers): 100$
Fiverr main designers: 1000$
Shutterstock: 220$

Total: 1650$

The last months I did not have the Fiverr main designers and shutterstock, so a lot less costs.

Plans

I mainly want to spam Shop 3 with a lot of designs and see what sticks. Currently I made a test with a niche product with 800 products online and its a huge fail as of now. I will switch back to merch and see how it works. Otherwise I will add a few high quality designs to Shop 2 and maybe a few less to Shop 1. I'm also thinking of expanding my Designs to a few more sites like Shutterstock, Red Bubble, and maybe even Merch by Amazon. I just can say that this shit gets harder and harder by year and you need to know a lot of tricks and methods to rank print on demand on etsy in 2022. I'm not sure how many of the advanced hacks I will share in this thread.

If you have any questions etsy or youtube related feel free to ask, I will try to update this thread 2 times a week.

Good luck buddy and great success ahead

Everyone's now starting a new journey for sure in this time of recession is the best to start to diversify your income

One question I want to ask is that do you run ads to your designs or it's just SEO and free Etsy traffic you're depending on.

When I have a new product that I think I have potential I run a few days etsy ads for kickstarting but tbh most products do not have a positiv ROI with etsy ads. Normally I turn them off after a few days and only rely on free traffic.

2016 and 2017 were really good for Print on Demand. I also had a lot of sales using Merch of Amazon, but then the competition got extremely high. There is still a lot of money to make, just depends on your marketing skills.

Best of luck to you and I will follow this journey. You have done it before and you can do it again.

So you broke up in 2017 when you realized you lost $4.5 million on Iota because of her?

Haha no, that was not related, still sad. But now I'm also married :)

Yes that's the biggest problem, it's insane how good the competition is.

Good journey. Etsy is golden for making money. Are you using stealth account ?

No stealth account at the moment, I tried it in the past but it never worked for me, it's not easy. After the etsy ban I just moved my street and got a new bank account + a new tax number. This was not related to etsy, just normal life but it worked for etsy too haha.

Very impressive, looks like you got success with every project you started and you got skills in driving traffic no matter the product promoted, but you never focused on one thing, i think if you put time and patience and spent like 1 year at least fully doing one thing to the MAX, you can end up with a digital asset worth six figures or more. Good luck.

You are definitely right, the focus is my biggest problem, I have a huge shiny object syndrome and also get bored very fast. It was always my biggest flaw.
How ever the first part can't be further from the truth. Most of my projects fail, the amount of projects I started is quite frankly insane and for every working project there are atleast 5 failed once. :D

UPDATE:

I added a few new items and tested a new designer on etsy, which was quite a fail, but also found a new designer which seems to be great as of now. I still did not use any of the 200 Designs I have gotten in the last weeks, because I have no time and I'm not sure if I should upload them on one of my old accounts or create a new shop for them. Also shutterstock fucked me over, I thought I still have some days to cancel my monthly subscription but they decide to take the money before the month ends to "guarantee a flawless subscription, without breaks". What a bullshit excuse.

Earnings yesterday:

Shop 1:

6 orders = 89$

Shop 2:

1 order = 8$

Shop 3:

1 order = 8$

total: 106$ which is quite nice, my goal at the moment is to get constant 100$ a day.

Expenses:

new Shutterstock month = 220$

You know this stuff! I am folling you (althoughI would never start a pod :) but I like to follow successful people.

Servus, just one question please..do you still use your own designs,if yes which software are you using?

I don't make any designs myself anymore, if I need some I hire freelancers or get them from somewhere else. But I used Photoshop for that in the past and a lot of people swear on canva.
