I had my unused AdWords account auto banned about 2 years ago when Google decided to go after accounts with "bridge pages". I've tried to get them to reinstate it, and they won't citing "numerous violations".

My question though is that I have recently acquired a client who wants me to run their AdWords account. Everything is in their NAME. Billing info everything. The old person who has been running the account is trying to share the account with my personal email address which is linked to a banned account.

If I accept the invitation will my client's account get banned? I may just be being paranoid here, but I'd hate for big G to ban my clients account because they linked this account with me. I had tried to open an account for my dad's business and they auto banned it. I think because we have similar names (I'm Robert / He's Robin), and I had used my credit card.

I just don't want my client's account to come under fire!

    Anyone have any thoughts/experience here?

I'd suggest not linking it to a personal account but an MCC (my client center) account.

My Client Center (MCC) is a powerful tool for handling multiple AdWords accounts. Think of MCC as an umbrella account with several AdWords accounts (managed accounts) linked to it.

You should use MCC if you are :-

    1) Large advertisers with more than one AdWords account
    2) Third parties such as:
    Agencies
    Search engine marketers (SEMs)
    Automated bid managers (ABMs)
And other online marketing professionals who manage multiple client accounts or large campaigns

And anyway you can't link a new account to an emailaddress that previously had or currently has an AdWords account anyway. Only 1 account per emailaddress, unless you use a MCC like the previous poster said.

Just a note here, if your ip which was linked to your previous banned account, has been flagged, it doesnt mean you wont be able to login and use existent accounts like your clients have, you just wont be able to create new accounts under the flagged ip.
