I read that we can disallow googlebot from accessing the folder where the Wordpress link cloaking/redirection plugins are located. However, in the case of Pretty Link, I see that the affiliate links are in a WP database and thus not located in any php file in the Pretty Link folder. Will the robots.txt method work in such a case with these plugins please?

Probably would work. But i suppose they have anti measures to detect cloaking. And if you get caught you will get a very hard slap.

Cloaking might not be the right word here as I simply use the 301 redirect option in the Pretty Link plugin. It does rename a long affiliate link into a shorter one and then redirect using 301 (in my case) to the affiliate partner landing page. I just want not to allow G to see these affiliate links on my sites.

I know there are other methods but I am specifically interested in this way if at all possible.

You are using the PRO version to do this right?
