Web20ranker have just submitted 4 press releases from me super wrongly.

I asked for a brand anchor to the homepage of my websites in the body of the press release. The about us also includes the URL anchor obviously.

But these guys have applied 2 anchors in the PR body. A branded and URL both pointing at the homepage. Thats on top of the about us URL anchor.

So i have 3 anchors in each and every PR (which is hundreds) all pointing at the homepage. 2 x URL and 1 branded.

I feel like this is overkill and a problem. What do you guys think? Will it hurt these sites SEO wise?

It will probably not hurt your SEO as those anchor texts are not keyword rich. URL is the safest anchor.

Secondly, most of the submissions will probably not even get found by Google so they won't count.

Thirdly, only the first anchor found by bots will carry the most weight. Since URL is the first one bots will encounter, you should be fine.
