I have searched in this website for topics about Press Release and didn't find any good information about it so far. It seemed a little weird to me since PR is one of the most effective ways to get high PR links to your website.

So LETS TALK ABOUT PRESS RELEASE HERE

Would like to share all I have learned so far and definitely want to hear what others have experienced.

    1. It should have interesting title what includes the main keywords. Can be a special promotion, since it will be visited by a lot of readers and in order to get clicks you need something catchy.

    2. Choose the keywords that are going to be linked. It's usually 1-4 links. It's a great way to optimize secondary pages.

    3. There are some websites that they can provide free press release. But it's usually not gonna be posted in many websites plus you might get 1 or 2 links. Paid Press Release websites can be a little costly but effective.

That's all so far :) Please put more info here about it.
    Thank you

Do not expect much coming out of this PR campaign. But anyway, since you have already got them written, send them to a few premium PR portals rather than publishing them on multiple junk sites.

Bulk PR submission is just a waste of time. Most likely... this PR will not be entertained by journalists or bloggers.

Anyhow, to increase the impact of PR:
    - Keep the title interesting
    - Include your main keywords in the title so that your PR gets searched
    - Include links to your client's website

    Home Page:
Hi, I think you forgot to include the most important aspect of a press release.
It should be a "news article" and never an advertisement.
I have submitted a press release for a client on PRWeb.com before.
PRWeb.com is one of the authority sites for press releases and it is expensive.
Believe me, the editors of PRWeb.com are strict.
They have a set of guidelines that you must follow.
Once you submit a press release for publication on PRWeb.com,
it will pass through the editor and they are going to rate it from 1-5.
1 as the lowest and 5 as the highest.
If your PR receive a failing mark, that means you have to rewrite it
    until it meets their guidelines.

I have no idea if this also happens for free PR submission sites.
If you would like to get an idea how to write a good PR worthy of publication,
check out PRWeb.com. Review the PR format and how it is written.

    Press releases are quite tricky.
It should be news worthy and not sound like an advertising.

    Good comments sienna.
I agree that PRWeb.com is very expensive and the staff is very picky.

    I use PRweb.com
If you are just starting, you can google free Press release, and find couple websites that give free press releases.
You can learn how the system works, but you will not get much results with that.

I have seen some PRs been published even on yahoo.com. I think backlinks from yahoo can be very powerful.

What are you guys hoping for with the PR?
Hits from the different news sources?
Back links from high PR sites?

And for those that have done big PRs, what were your results.

I want to do an article on something I think will get picked up by a lot of big time papers, as it's something never before seen, but want to get the most out of it.

    Some added tips:

-A press release should always be written in the third person, and not be overly promotional.
-You should always add quotes to your release. So if it is about a company write:

Circa Glass is having it's most profitable year thanks to the unsavoury weather conditions our city has been experiencing as of late, "We just can't seem to get enough trucks for all of the work available," says Joe Cooke,"every week we are buying more and more trucks to keep up".

I use prweb.com and onlineprnews.com and they are quality sites. Onlineprnews.com allows you to put 3 links in your PR which is really great and their lowest package is $22 so it is not that expensive either.
