If anyone is in the DC and surrounding areas, we are all aware of what this 09' Inauguration means for us monetarily offline, but if you aren't monetizing it online as well, you are behind on the crowd. Adsense, affiliate, and zip submits! =D And what better method to use than good ol' craigslist?
There is going to be an estimated million+ visitors in DC come inauguration time. There are only enough hotel rooms to house a mere fraction of those visitors. Those of us with dwellings nearby will make a killing renting out our houses/rooms/apartments/whatnot but you can benefit from the housing frenzy too!
Just sign up for affiliate programs like vacationhomerentals.com or maybe a travel site too [just thinking of more stuff as I write this even] and put the links up on a nice landing page/blog that you have set up around them. Perhaps even offering them a one stop network where they can get their travel information taken care of along with their housing arrangements would be a nice incentive too.
Anyhow, post an ad on the dc craigslists vacation rentals and post a low price [$100-300 will get you a nice amount of views]. Post some pics and a believeable description with a link back to your landing page/blog for more information [or give an email with an autoresponder setup--however you please, but you'll get more traffic via the posting the link method...you'll get more targeted leads with the autoresponder method...pick your poison] and let everyone else take care of the rest.
Further monetize your landing page/blog with adsense or nifty little zip completes for a little extra change. =D
