One of my old sites randomly got a PR7 page (not the homepage) in the last update. I only just realised and the site has been down for a few weeks because the hosting contract expired. I renewed the domain, but there is currently no site built on it.

In terms of maximising PR-juice. Would you recommend:

    a) 301 redirecting the whole domain to one of my money sites
    b) 301 redirecting just the PR7 page to one of my money sites
    c) Get hosting and put the site back and make a do-follow link from the PR7 page to a money site.

I should add that there are a couple of PR 4 and 5 pages too. The domain for some reason is PR1. Weird.

    Ideas please!

EDIT: No, I don't want to sell the site or rent links! It's a personal site. But I would like to juice it before the PR drops. :)

because that way you can use it to juice up plenty of your sites not just one. anyway i'd treat it just like it was just bought at auction (301 pages to homepage..new site etc)

create a new page at money site with same content of the pr 7 page, and redirect to it, google dont like redirects that doesnt match the content.

Is it really the case? that Google hates content that doesn't match?

It helps if the niche is similar but to be honest I've seen sites ranking even if the content is completely different (one recent example is a 302 from a ballet site to a marketing site).

Hi, install a wordpress then put Link Juice Keeper plugins, its a great plugins to keep ANY link juices you currently have in inner pages, and push it all to your main page (301 automatic redirect to main page).
Then you can do a backlink to any page you want from your main page.

I would put a site up, you can control the PR and rank for other keywords as well.
    Win win situation.

I may be reading this wrong but congrats on the pr7 2nd are you sure it's not a pr7 from sitting on the hosting server?

Much like godaddy domains that expire end up parked on there server picking up THEIR PR.

I could be wrong about your pr7 but just curious that has something to do with it.

See the age of sites if your PR 7 site is older than new site then just do 301 redirect. Redirect PR 7 page directly to your new domain home page.

Are you shure this is real PR? Maybe when your hosting expired your hosting provider make 301 redirection to his site and it get fake pr via this.

Thanks, but I would think twice before using any wordpress plugins with blackhat names. It's too easy to get found. The same redirect can be set up in .htaccess though.

Good point but the PR is from certain pages, not the domain. The site hosting expired AFTER the latest PR update, so it was live not parked at the time.

Yes, PR is real. It is Page PR, not domain.

That's a good point, thanks. I actually wanted to direct it to a much older domain. It would look very spammy to 301 a 5-year old domain to a 10-year old domain. Hmm.
