I made a website about 2 months ago because I was going to try sell SEO services in my area. I setup the website and just left it. Its a dumb wordpress site and I wrote a article that was about 400 words an there is about 150 words on the front page. Alexa says it has 3 sites linking in and not one of those websites actually works.

I was looking at the website and it said it has PR3 on the main page an PR2 on the other pages... WTF? I checked it with SEOquake and another tool.

    How could this be?

Oh an it has 5 pages indexed... lol

Remember one thing that after the Panda Update, Unique and Quality content is the king which has the power to increase PR of your website as well as rank him inside Google search Engine.

I have 6 websites with 20 articles each. They are about 2 months old now and still PR0. You are lucky I guess. :)

When I build sites I regularly get PR3 and PR4 with no/little links going to it. My guess is a lot of people never see that and often go straight to PR1 or even PR0. I think most people build sites in a few days or weeks build links going out i.e. affiliate sites etc and/or start adding advertising. As soon as you start linking out, adding advertising, adding duplicate/low quality content it's going to hurt your PR pretty bad since your a new site.

I often get an idea, buy a domain, install wordpress add some content and then get side tract. I'll come back a few months later to see its now a PR3 or PR4. This is never the plan it just kind of works out like that (ADD). But as soon as I start linking to affiliate sites and/or adding advertising etc my Page rank will often drop to a PR2 with the next pagerank update. If you add enough high quality back links you can maintain the PR3/PR4 though.
