    Hello all,
I've been working on my new site the past month (domain is 1 and a half months old). And 3 of my 6 main pages are ranking #1, #2 or 1st/2nd page for the appropriate keywords. The other 3 have more competitive keywords and around 10k-20k exacts.
Anyways, on one of those remaining three pages I've been working on the hardest and fed it the best and most backlinks, but it wasn't in the top 1000 SERP's of G, until earlier today. It jumped from #1000+ to #191. It didn't show many indexed backlinks, but then a lot suddenly got indexed and so I checked them out at YSE. Now the weird thing is that I have 100s of backlinks from PR 3+ domains, on the homepage.. And I'm the only OBL! The domain names aren't shitty either, most are really good and short + several years old. There's not that much content on them and only 1 page, on which my site and only my site is linked to, with my KW as anchor. But WTF PR 3?? I certainly didn't build links to those pages and I couldn't have anyways.

TL;DR: Site suddenly jumped from #1k+ to #191 and I noticed I have 100s of PR 3+ backlinks with only my link with my KW as anchor on it. Sites have only that one page, but unique content. All are several years old.

Can someone explain to me what's going on, what kind of links they are or what ever you might know about this?

    Thanks in advance!

That is strange, maybe someone's building links to your domain on accident and thought they were linking to their own?

Sounds like its some sort of network type of linkbuilding, potentially even private. None of the content is the same on the sites? It isn't a spun article on all the sites?

No it's all unique and also different categories. At least for the couple dozen I checked.
    Thanks

This could even be a random SEO guy trying out a new method/link network he created to see what sort of effects it has on your ranking before trying it on his sites.

I've done the same thing before, trying SEO on a random domain to test to make sure its a worthwhile method before moving forward.

That sounds plausible. And it seems to be working like a charm :D
